In multiplayer games the doom3.wad is automatically sent to everybody who joins. They should already have doom3.wad and a 900k download is a hefty wait for modemers.
When multiplayer demos are recorded, either the deathmatch spawning point is not recorded or is not loaded when demo is played back.
