I thought that maybe downloading 1.30 would help, but it hasnt. It seems like even though the floors, walls, and everything else is running with 16bit color, the dynamic lights and such are in 8bit color. ?? How is this possible? Any Ideas?

The automap is still there, what's wrong?
The dynamic lights are in 16bits mode, 8its for intensity, 8bits for alpha. And then we add the color to that... in 16bits mode if you have are in 16bits mode, or in 32bits if you are in 32bits mode.

Well, I press TAB and I get a full statusbar, with the grey background and everything... but no map. Just a blank screen.
As for the lights, let me get a screenshot of what I mean...

See how the lighting isnt smoothed out? thats what I meant, sorry for any misunderstanding.

For the map, I haven't that problem on my computer... what video are you using, with which drivers ?
For the coronas, yes, I know, it's a "problem' in 16bits mode. It's quite strange, because it looks better in glide (also in 16bits mode) than in gl. Maybe the blending function in glide is a little better for that, than the gl one. BTW, if you have the chance to run it on a 32bits card, you won't have the problem we can see in your screen shot (that's one of the reason to have a 32bits card). Do you know if other doom source port have the same "problem" ? If not, maybe I can have a look at their blending function for drawing such thing.

I'm using a Trident Blade 3d 4mb (its a peice, I know... But the automap worked in 1.29, which is funky. Im not sure which pre-release it was, but I downloaded it from the Legacy site about 3 days before 1.30 came out...
Also, I have run legacy in 32 bit on my system, and I get the same problem. Funky. Maybe I should upgrade cards....
Also, I just wanna thank your for your help and going outta your way to answer almost every post here. peace

Well, I think it's my job to answer legacy related problems, at least when I have the time to do that ;-)
For the automap... if it worked in a previous version, it should works in the new version, it's not a problem with your card. Maybe we modified something without seeing the side effect on automap drawing (it can be a problem of blending function not supported by you card... did you tried minigl mode to see if there is the same problem?).
We will see that asap (but unfortunately, I won't be able to check that for now).
