Hey,
I was wondering if it might be possible to implement a Modem to modem connection in Legacy, because it would make life easier for playing with 2 players. Playing over the Internet can be painfully laggy.
Thanx.

I assume you're using win9x http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/smile.gif
You have to establish a TCP connection between the two boxes. At least one of them has to have the Plus! pack installed, where a dial-in server is included (there is some other dial-in server freely available, but don't ask me where). Then you need to assign *fix* network addresses to the two boxes, e.g. 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2. in the network setup (reboot afterwards!). The dial-in server has to be activated and the other box has to dial the appropriate number (just like calling in to your provider). After this you should be able to play legacy till the cows come home.
This is all I remember on how I set up games with my friend. If you need a more thorough description fire up your favourite search engine and look for quake2 + modem-to-modem. This is how I found it ...
