Just an idea here, why not have an addon for doom legacy that lets you speak to other doom players while playing over the net or lan, not by typing text but speaking through a microphone, thus letting others hear you during gameplay
Similar to Monster Truck Madness 2, with the cb radio

Have you ever tried TeamSound ? It worked perfectly for me (but haven't tried it with DooM Legacy).
BTW, it's not a priority for us to implement that (don't you think the lag is already too big?)

Couldn't you just use Roger Wilco or something? I've tried it in the past with other games and it doesnt lag me at all (and I use 56k)
