I have some longer former human sight sounds (1.5-2 seconds long), and they play even as i shoot and kill them. I say the sight sound should be killed if the death sound is played http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm43.gif

I think that's pretty typical for Doom in general. I used to have fun with hearing the alert sound and the death sound simultaneously by punching the keyboard as close as I could in Doom 2 ending :-)

But it might be fixable, after all MBF got rid of the silent BFG trick by doing the opposite of what you're suggesting.

Mine always fall victim to spilt liquids. Of course its always an arrow key or some other important button that stops working.
