kickstart and xp

i noticed while reading through the beginner's guide for v1.13 that there are some known issues regarding kickstart and win xp. does anybody know what these issues are (it didn't go into any detail)? i just installed xp last week, and well... i have yet to install the latest version of doomsday since i've been hearing about some slowdown issues and figured another fix or two will probably be coming. well, that and i was kinda waiting for the new models to be finished, and it appears that now most everything's ready. i know there are alternatives to kickstart, but it sounds as though that would be my simplest-- and best-- solution for changing iwads. anybody know anything or have suggestions?

...and of course you can simply update Jdoom, simply replace the files in ..\ports\doomsday with the new ones.
Are you actually interested in having a JDoom version with 3D models included ?

thanks, king. i know you're probably sick of reading stupid questions from me, and i really appreciate the response. as far as the newbie pack goes, i'll check into it. having the models included isn't all that necessary... i haven't really had problems installing and running jdoom in the past EXCEPT for my ineptitude when it comes to changing wad files. i still have all the downloads for the fully tricked-out v1.11, and i remember reading that the new KDX is also compatible with the newer versions of doomsday. i just panicked when i read that there were known problems running under xp, since i just upgraded...

still looking for info on problems with kickstart running on win xp if anybody knows what these might be...
