I have a problem with JDoom. When i try to run it it runs extremely slow... im not talking jes slower... its like playing a deathmatch with 10 guys and no DUP. I could probably find the answer somewhere buried in the readme but i thought i would jes ask here. Can anybody help me?
P.S. i think it has somethng to do with the 3d graphics card im using and the software for it.. i really dont know much about the computer im using.. how do i find out how which one i have?

as far as determining your graphics card, under 98/ME right click on the My Computer icon and select "Properties." then click on "Device Manager," and look for "Display Adapters." Click the plus sign next to it, and it will tell you what card you're running.i believe the procedure is pretty much the same for 95, but i know it's a little different for 2000/XP. whatever OS you're running, the Device Manager is what you're looking for. then see if you can get updated drivers either from the computer manufacturer's site, or go directly to the card maker's site and see what they have. if it's an nVidia card, and isn't an antique, just go ahead and get the Detonator drivers directly from nVidia.

I don't know about Jdoom, but for Legacy some players with a "poor" video card have to turn out the lightings to allow a correct framerate. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm14.gif

check c:\windows\system (in win98 anyway)and look for the file opengl32.dll.Is it the microsoft version, which is no good for jdoom, or your cards? As suggested see if there is one for your card or try running under directx.
