i've just gotten jdoom (1.0) up and running, and i've also got the patches (v1.1 + 1.11). i've extracted the contents of both zipped folders, but only 1.11 has a setup app in it. 1.1's folder has the following folders: defs, demo, and doc. it also has the doomsday app, but doubleclicking it just created a .out file. there's also some .dll's in there as well. how do i patch 1.0 to 1.1? i can't just patch it directly to 1.11 can i? i'm sure it's probably a very simple answer, but keep in mind that it took me awhile to get the doomsday.exe to read my WAD file, and i still haven't figured out doom 2 or final doom (copying them into the directory screwed things up!). if anybody can help, i'd really appreciate it, and keep in mind i am VERY new to this http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/wink.gif

just unzip 1.1 into the folder.
I have new directorys for every IWAD because thats simpler. So put an IWAD into a folder and install to that folder specify the folder at the end of installation and it will find the IWAD you put there. then unzip 1.1 into the folder and patch with 1.11 afterwards. do the same for every IWAD.
Hope it works for you http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

Thats kinda wasteful. Just set the path to the iwads in the launcher (just selecting it under game mode doesn't do it).

okay... so all i should have to do (at least in theory), is specify the path when i wanna run doom 2 or f. doom? i.e., right click on IWAD in the launcher and point it to the doom2.wad/plutonia.wad/tnt.wad (in the jdoom directory)? the reason i ask is because the default isn't a path per se-- just says doom.wad. also, should i be able to have all four .wad files in the directory at once, or do i need to only have one at a time? once i finally got the game running initially, i copied the other three in there and it caused some sort of conflict... who knows... oh, and thanks for the tip on v.1.01-- i finally figured it out on my own after uninstalling/reinsatlling.
thanks!
