I finally got Jdoom up and running, but I still can't figure out how to use the program "Dlaunch". It's all Greek to me! I think Jdoom looks better that Legacy in most respects. I'm still tweaking both programs. I just wish Jdoom had a user friendly launcher like Legacy.

Dlaunch is a very friendly front end I think. Its very simple. The options you want to include, click the check box. The options you want to change, right click and enter the values/add the files.

e.g. To use a 3rd party WAD and also use direct3d in 640x480 you click in the graphics section and right click on Width and Height and enter them. Then in the direct3d section, right click on the driver and enter "drD3D.dll" (it should already be there).

Now you can add the wad. Right click on External WAD's (near the bottom). and add the WAD file. Finally you may want to add any command line options. If youre using the GL Models then you will want to add "-maxzone 16m" so that the models have enough memory to load in.

The good thing about this is that you only have to do this once and you can just add a different external WAD to play a new map.

Persevere with JDoom and you'll find it plays much better than the other versions in my opinion.
