In my previous post. I said I have problem when I use 3dfx/OpenGL renderer. Then I use Direct X renderer to run it. But it said: "drD3D.Init: DirectX init failed. Error: 145.". Then return to the desktop. What's going on? I really want to play JDoom. Please help me. I'll thanks for your reply.

hey, i get the same thing as you guys
i download the md2.zip thinking this would cure the things, and downloaded a decent modeldef file, and nothing
then i saw the thing saying "usemodels 1"
and it loads the models but no skins/textures.
but the direct3D problem
i used to be able to run JDoom in D3D no problem, then suddenly it stopped working
i read the last guys post and hes right
run using Dlaunch
in the Doomsday options press the + button
and then press the + button next to graphics
heres what i used to get it working
Tick : Width 640
Tick : Height 480
Tick : Colour Depth 16 bit
(remember that, because only Voodoo4+ cards run at anything more than 16bit)
right click Renderer, and choose drD3D.dll
then press the + button next to
Direct3D
Tick : Texture Colour Depth 16 bit
Tick : Z-Buffer Depth 16 bit
then press Save
then launch the game
and voila
the D3D game should run
its really bloody great
best doom port ive ever seen
but in my opinion leave the charachters as sprites, the MD2 charachters are pure crap in my opinion and the sprites look a whole lot better,
cant wait till the netcode is optimized
played it on DTEST but it was pretty cool
but like Quake, the clients had some major lags
cheers
keep it up mate
ps if anyone wants an internet game, email at dearohdear@hotmail.com
and for those who cant get the internet games to run, i only ever got it to run in DTEST
