View Full Version : New ModelDef.txt and a weapons question

Following on from Danok's work, I have forwarded a new modeldef to newdoom and hopefully it should be up soon. This latest version includes the Archvile and the revenant. The only monster to be added is the mastermind and hopefully I will get a chance to do this soon.
The obvious next step is to try and replace the weapons shown at the bottom of the screen however these are not items and do not have the four letter sprite name required by Jaako's modeldef format.
Does anyone have any ideas??

they do have four letter names e.g. the bfg is bfgg, but jdoom apparrently dosn't support hud weapon md2s so far as i can tell. damn it! there were enough people using my modeldef to crash my site so i had to remove it from the readme don't any of them know a damn thing about how to fix this damn problem i have with my browsers, dosn't any one have a damn pcx editer thats good, there will probably be no update untile i am helped.

Yep, I just got a comment to that effect from Jaakko as follows:
"It isn't yet possible to replace non-item sprites with 3D models. It
shouldn't be too difficult to allow it, but I'm afraid the army is
taking up all my time at the moment. Perhaps someone is willing to do
some hacking with the 1.0pre source...?"
Could be a rewarding project for someone with any programming skills but unfortunately that is not me.
