1. bullet holes, blood splatters ala DoomGL
2. I've not been able to get a net game working - I have the correct ip numbers, but the server is never found.Quake3 and all other TCPIP games work...
3. 3D models - other doom projects have them and I know it is a planned feature, but there is SO MUCH manual configuration work you have to do to get it working. It would really make jDOOM shine and get the attention it deserves. Take the zdmglmd2.zip set of models (almost all sprites are replaced) but make them work right out of the ZIP - no manual configuration which is prone to error and doesn't ever work for most people.
4. I suggest a little install program that finds the DOOM dir and puts everything on the disk with shortcuts automatically. Again, I think this will increase your audience.
5. how about compressed wad support?

a couple more:

- Instead of having all lensflares and dynamic lighting exactly the same size and intensity, why not set them based on the object. So a torch is glowing, an invincibility sphere is as bright as a sun (but don't touch the plasma gun, it is perfect!)

- the invisibility effect isn't that good IMO.

- The teleporting effect is not as dramatic as it could be... maybe something else fun there?

Hi,
I agree with all of your points 100%; however, Jaakko is now in the Finnish army, so his access will be understandably limited.
Please email him directly at mailto:skyjake@newdoom.comskyjake@newdoom.com</A> and hopefully you'll hear from him as soon as he's able, and these things can be implemented, if not by himself, maybe by someone trustworthy who can carry the torch.
There's so much yet untapped potential for JDoom (http://www.newdoom.com/jdoom/) (and JHeretic (http://www.raven-games.com/jheretic/) and JHexen (http://www.raven-games.com/jhexen/)), it would be a shame if it ended here. I don't think it will . . .

Keep the great suggestions going!
