This is the best Doom port I've seen yet. Very stable, excellent features, etc. The author has added/fixed several things I have mentioned to him in e-mail.
I can't wait until someone comes up with a complete MD2 definition file or whatever. http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/smile.gif
Where's the new dynamic lighting though? Is it in there yet? I didn't notice a difference.

Unforunately due to lack of time, Jaakko didnt get the dynamic lighting implemented :-( It looked soooo cool in that JHeretic shot too...
Yes Jaakko certainly has made THE port of Doom, my favourite feature though has to be the 3D sound!! EAX 2.0 sounds excellent, Doom with echoey sounds - just what it needed to enhance the atmosphere! Pity that Jdooms 3D sound isnt quite as good as the other J games,(the doom chainsaw and chaingun effects are muffled and choppy :-(
What I am hoping for it that some fan that has some knowledge, can take Jaakkos source code and add some of the things that Jaakko dint get time to do, like the new dynamic lighting.
I cant wait to see if any MD2 models get done for Jdoom and Jheretic! It would be excellent! I am really annoyed and disappointed though, that JHexen isnt compatible, that is the one game of the three that I wnated to see with 3D enemies, I wonder why Jaakko didnt concetrate on the game that started his whole Doomdasy thing
?? It is certainly the best game of the three by a mile...
Bye,

Actually, it is implemented, but it's not colorful enough! Just do "dlblend 0" at the console, or set Dynamic Lighting to Multiply instead of Add.
You can mess around with:
r_dlMaxRad
r_dlFactor
and of course the intensity. I think I like the Add method more though. That JHeretic shot did look cool, but I don't see how he made it look that cool. http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/smile.gif
