Felix, no I didn't build it. It was fresh out of the factory.
HyperFlash, nope not Dell. It was Cyberpower Inc. (http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/home.htm) it was a customised "Titanium Gamer Force Pro".

Hmm, that's odd. Usually these computers come with a warranty, like Felix said. You should be able to get it fixed.
You sure it isn't something else? Just the computer that stopped working?

"You sure it isn't something else? Just the computer that stopped working?"
It was plugged into a "powerstrip" (a surge-protected six outlet thingie) with my monitor & the 5.1 speaker system that I bought with the computer, the strip didn't trip & both the monitor & speaker's power lights work.. yes I'm sure it's the computer.
And I checked, It is under warrenty.
Man. I hope this was a just a fluke.

On the lighter side of things, I found out the problem with my new computer. it was buggered RAM, I took a 32mb stick out of a computer a client gave me after I did a system upgrade for him.. so now I have an Athlon xp 1800+ and geforce2 GTS 64MB running on 32MB ram!! I tried playing counter stike, it was soo smooth, until you took about 6 steps, the next part of the map loaded and the swap file went beserk!

Yep that is nasty when that happens. I bought an AMD 133 years ag and the power supply went on that before I got to do anything with it. I was sent a new one but it was more frustrating than anything..
By the way I have just got my new machine which I am going to tell you all about http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm35.gif
AMD 2800
120 gig hard drive
22" monitor
ATI Raedon 9700 (I can always upgrade if I need to.)
512 meg of ram
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
ADSL
DVD multi drive
DVD drive
Creative 6.1 surround sound speakers
HP photo printer
standard scanner
BIG HOLE in my bank account
Slightly pissed off wife (although she knew it was coming)

You might want to consider getting a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra if it's not too expensive and if you're wife agrees with you.

a Radeon 9700 is still a powerful card, HyperFlash. There is not much reason for FACE.UK to spend a lot more for a 5900FX. In the Doom 3 Forum didn't you say
