Dedicated Quake III Server

[Doom2Hell]

ok, i set up a computer where quake III runs like complete ass, but a server runs really good. I set up the router to forward any connections to my IP to that computer (or at least i think i did) i can connect by booting quake III on another computer inside my network, not by using the internal IP but by using the external IP and the port number. If i use the wrong port number it doesnt work, so i presumed it was working. Well no one can connect, not even goldy on her computer using the same method, in order to connect she HAS to use the internal IP, so that says to me its definitly not working right. Is there something i need to do so that its public accessable, i thought i did it the same way i made a doom server before, but guess not. Well I would, only my Quake 3 CD's been missing for months. Same with my Windows XP restore disks, which I REALLY need at the moment, so I can go ahead and reformat my computer.
