The Revenge of President Bush

Monkey, PuppetMaster and myself are creating a new 12-level TC called "The Revenge Of President Bush" to offer those who want to vent there anger/grief against Bin Laden for Tuesdays horrible events.

This is the basic idea for the TC:

You play as President Bush and u decide something needs to be done about the acts of war commited by Bin Laden. You set out to afganistan to hunt the bastard out and erricated him to oblivion.

So far we have 3 ppl in the team:

Leader = Myself and sound editor
Lead Sprite and Texture Artist = PuppetMaster
Musician = Monkey
Mapper = Asmodeus

Any help with this TC we can get would be great, espeically mappers and artists! The existing members will decide who will be on it.

I already put forth the suggestion for a similar TC to the other memebers of Team DeiM earlier today. If the proposal is accepted by the other memebers of the team, then work on the "Bin Laden Must Die" TC will begin immediately, taking priority over all other projects. It is intended as a massive coop mod, with an emphasis on military strategy, rather than just a simple shooting gallery. An emphasis on making the mod difficult in a realistic fashion is also anticipated. This will make the game play more frustrating for players, but should make victory ultimately more satisfying.

Aside from that, I will not release any other details until I hear word from the other members of the team.

I have been getting some negative feed back from this. Please let me make my intentions understood, allow me that. :/ I feel very angry inside!
This is just a way to vent that anger. I was sickened by the attacks I saw on the TV against innocent American Moslem's, and do NOT condone those acts in way shape or form. This is not the time for pointing fingers, laying blame or saying that anybody deserved this because the bottom line is NO one did. This is a time for sympathy and thoughts for those who have lost loved ones. I would also like to add that there were not just americans in those buildings either. There were germans, english, indians and chinese people in there too. I have also taken this time to evaluate myself and how maybe I can lead a better life by helping others. I realise we are treading thin ice with this wad, and i want to avoid flamewars and such.

The suggestion I made about the story line doesn't have to be the one we will going ahead with, this TC may not go ahead because of the reaction or flamewars it could start in the Doom Community. I don't want to be racist or blame innocent people for the current events.

We can create a new story line, but more fictional than what i came up with beforehand. Say like, The character you play is yourself. A person has been proven guiltly of commited these acts of war and he/she is hiding out in a stronghold on an island. You have been assigned to take this stronghold out and bring the person responible back to the USA to be dealt with appropriately.

I am open to any ideas you may have.

I have paid good money for these fine forums, and I have extended their features through my own efforts. I pay a lot of money out of my own pocket every month for the bandwidth used for these forums, as well as for the sites. I don't talk about that a lot, because frankly people aren't too concerned about it. I suppose people think that it's free, and all you have to do is throw some HTML up on a server somewhere. But that's not how it works for a site like this.
I offer these things freely to the community. Posting here is not a right, but a privilege.
I thank you and everyone to remember that, and to know the time and place for some comments are inappropriate, and that as liberal as we are as moderators, there is a line of common sense and respect that should not be crossed.

As far as I understand it, it is only very loosely based on reality Will...there is no real storyline as yet as far as I know (at least not a solid one...it's sorta open right now), though there are gonna be some custom skins and such to fit the terrorist theme. I feel just as badly as you do if not more so about what happened in New York; I'm really frustrated because due to present circumstances, I am unable to get there to help at this time. Everyone's gonna have to deal with it in thier own way, and maybe working on this TC is the best way for me, plankey, monkey, and myself to work through this...

I attended the service on parliament hill yesterday. I arrived a few minutes late, and the closest I could get to parliament was over a block away. Except for sections that were cordined off, the area in front of the parliament building, which consists of several acres, was completely packed with people. The people also filled the streets outside the parliament building for two or three blocks away. At 12:20, with only the exception of the occasional cry of young children who did not understand, three minutes of complete silence began. When the ceremony ended, I stood in place. People filed past me for almost twenty minutes.

An estimated 37000 attended.

We're all truly in this together, and it is with this outpouring of support that we can recover from this terrible blow, felt from ground zero in NYC and DC, the sources of impact, reverberating all the way out to all of our democratic brethren (not just Christians and Jews, but Muslims, Islamics, Sunni... we are all peace-loving citizens of the civilized world) throughout the world.

I don't think I'd post something like that on any page I made. Too risky. I'm really proud of the way all you guys avoided a big flame war. It makes me happy to be a member of NewDoom. I saw much of the DeePsea flame war on DoomWorld and that was just out of hand. I won't comment on it anymore though because I haven't read the whole thing yet.

The truth is I don't like President Bush very much myself (I would probably vote for the democrats if I was American). I won't bash Bush is this situation though. I just hope he doesn't screw up his war against terrorism and kill millions of innocent people. If all goes well he and his pals will put careful thought into their tactics and the world will be a little happier.

Cops and Truck drivers have a Love hate relationship. We have our Truck Stops they have their Donutshop's, we all talk business then. It was an escape to the pressure of the Jobs. I met many Good Cops, and they tell more donut jokes than anyone! That is why it disturb me.
