New Doom Editor !

Whoah ! I just thought of this ! I can't wait to edit this New Doom ! I know its gonna be waaaaaaay cool . Yeah , yeah , i know they gotta make the game first , but i can't help thinking about it ! Hopefully id will ship the editor with the game ! I hope !

Hey REoL, now that you mention it, they DID say something about an editor shipping with Quake 2. Grrrrrrrrr....i hope they ship the new Doom one!

Quake II AND Quake III.

It would be good to have the executable built-in, but then again, we'll have a bunch of hacks, ala Duke Nukem "3D", making square rooms with 234,245 monsters. That's the only good point of putting editors online instead, so the idiots don't get their hands on them (or not as many).

I agree with you about the idiots. Yet the complexity of the new Doom editor should keep some or maybe even most of the idiots away. Maybe they WILL release the editor as a download off the id site......i doubt it. Most likely it will be on the CD, if they do keep to thier word, this time.

I doubt they will. Knowing id, they don't spend time (if any) on stuff they are making money off of. Just remeber Ultimate DooM 4th episode. They rushed that because they the extra profit the made off of it was exactly as predicted, $0.

'DoomWorld' isn't copyrighted; you can't copyright a URL. There's not even any legitimate claim of intellectual property for either 'Doom' or 'World', as they're not the first to use those terms in a website URL or software title.
