This happened to me only a couple times a long time ago, but have you ever played DooM, and wind up with 0% health, but could still play as if you're still alive?
I'm not talking cheat codes or weird tricks, I mean normal play, running around, killing scum, with 0% health.

Yup, happened to me a few times, too. I can't quiet remember, but I think it was only with Ultimate DOOM. Maybe I'm wrong, though...

Never saw that. Must be a bug, or for some reason the health includes fractions, and happened to have 0.3 health left so it displayed 0% health.

I have had that same problem in Deathmatch on Doom2 v1.9 a few times too

Or maybe that version of Doom's actually set up so that you only die when you go BELOW 0% but no one notices because it is almost impossible to suffer damage exactly equal to your own HP...

If you put in three player start possions kill one and let the other live, you are an undead doomer.
But this dissables your abillity to fire or pick up items and stuff
Try it... it realy works

I've never seen that bug, and I'm surprised it would exist! Freaky.
I have seen the multiple-player-one-spots trick. It was sweetly demonstrated in TNT Map30, (across the pillars at the beginning...there are a couple cacos and lost souls and a bunch of demons, you can't miss it), that if you went the wrong way you'd telefrag yourself and have to start over or load a game. Phat!

I'm talking NO TRICKS! Some missed the whole point, here.
I wonder if DooM actually does consider you dead if your HP is less than zero? After all, if you get zero and still live, that must the the reason, and as mentioned, it's tough to take a hit and be left with exactly 0% health, so maybe fractions are involved, or it's a bug where it recognizes death at -1% onward.

Could be a vanilla doom/boom engine bug, which would explain why myself and ferrari have not seen itl, being the Legacy *****s that we are

Why are all the floors and ceilings all chopped up in such an ugly manner?

Someone had that problem with one of my maps with Legacy. Looks normal with any other BooM compatable port.

I have never experienced something like that, but another weird thing has happened to me. Several times in fact, it's quite easy to do.
Try to get killed in the same moment you exit, and you will start the next level with 100%. Nothing strange about it, but this means that you have exited in the same second you get 0%, but it is in the next tic (next level start) you die, or?
Maybe this could be trigged without dying?

Back when I have DooM v1.1, I was able to shoot my player start marine clones and stay alive even after they were dead. I don't think it works in Ultimate DooM though (v1.9). I always die at the same time as my clone/s.
Of course Legacy has eliminated the player start clones altogether.

I think that was something fixed in 1.2, where your "clones" die, so do you.
I've played maps that had TONS of them, and the objective was to go through a map killing baddies, but not any of your hundreds of clones.
It sucked.

I created a wad that used the clones to create a marine army,which you are then cut off from by a roof collapse. Maybe I will finish that one some day.
