There was an animated film called Hunger by the National Film Board of Canada back in the early 1970s. It contains the first computer morphing ever produced. In the film, a business man becomes a compulsive eater, and eats almost constantly throughout the entire story, until he is hugely obese. One night he is mysteriously transported to the middle of a desert (Actually, there is no background used in the film. I am just assuming there is a desert), where he is surrounded by a crowd of starving children. He is so fat, that the children can not recognize him as a man. They quickly close in on him and devour him.

Hmmmm. That's very interesting. It was also the first computer animated film to be nominated for an Academy award. Every 12th drawing was drawn by hand, and then the inbetweens were done by an SEL 840A minicomputer. The software was developed by the National Research Council of Canada in 1966. The two men who developed the software were given an Oscar for their achievements in 1996.

The film won the 1974 Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

There are a lot of references to the film in sites about computer animation, but there aren't many pictures around the net from the film. The film is available through the NFB, however.
