Aliotroph? you're the one that got me seriously thinking about getting the ball rolling. I wonder if this idea could be an official New Doom Project?
And Kaiser, I wasn't trying to exclude Anyone else who had the same idea. this topic started out as my answer to Aliotroph?'s comment on this page.

If it has a good editor I can convert some of the levels over, as I've done a bit of it before.

It'd be cool to have a texture artist that could do new bump-mapped versions of the textures (and whatever other silly layers they have).

maybe it will have some classic Doom style textures when it is released.
I was thinking of trying to do some mapping but I'll warn you guys right now, I don't have much mapping experience at all.

Me neither. But since I'm a quick learner it'll probably be easy once I get used to making more maps.
