My idea on the story is this..
1 month after the invasion of Earth (Which is being cleaned up), Hell wanted more revenge than ever, their plan had failed, losing nearly all they had left, revnge will be at it's biggest..
Whilst the moon bases had been more secured than ever, no more portal experiments occured, but Hell launched a full scale assult by survivors hiding in the rocks, but the attack failed, making Hell think of no more plans. Until a rouge Cyberdemon blew his way into a portal control room ( The only one remaining, was thought to be disconnected) and the portal was open, leaving way in for THE assult.
Hell's new plan was to control the minds of the Humans from the base, by building a massive pychic beacon.
IT'S UP TO YOU
Go in and destory the last portal, wipe out the Demons, and blow the beacon away.
