Weapon upgrades?

I think that would be a good idea. You could have weapon modifications (mods for short) that could increase accuracy, rate of fire, and clip size. Then you could have add ons, like scopes and laser range finders. Even though they dont seem very doomish, they would work out.

yeah, thats one of the things i really like about Deus Ex. At one point I had my silenced pistol upgraded so much that it was basically a sniper rifle (and it took up a lot less inventory space http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/smile.gif) It had a scope, laser sight, and about 20 accuracy mods, reload mods, recoil mods, you name it, it was in that baby http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/smile.gif

And i was a master pistol guy too. So that kicked ass. With mods, its great becuase there are just soooo many possibilities!

Didn't play this Dues Ex game yet but I suppose that a few extra attachments to enhance weapons would be cool.

I remember in Unreal, that the main pistol was upgradable and it was sorta cool http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/cool.gif! So maybe if DooM had a few "mods" it would be ok. Would it?

What I mean is that everything in the New Doom will be editable in text mode!!! Nothing will be binary anymore. Nobody cares about hdd space or load times :P

So you can simply load notepad and edit New Doom. Bye-bye WADs and PAKs!!! it's all DATs and TXTs this time around :P
