Ok. How much longer do we have to wait

Well, if you people can't tell, this is my first post. I am a big doom fan. This game is something that I have been looking for after Doom II. I know that this game is coming out in the next year or so, but do you guys think they should at least be giving us some news about the Mosters, weapons, and even maps. I mean, come on id, lets start hearing about Doom III.

I really hope they don't release too much info and ruin all the surprises. Some info is good but they have about 2 years of developing to go before the game is released. So we just have to wait and see whassup with the game.

I can understand companies wanting to keep everything under wraps. And if Doom can change gaming like it did when it first came out, I wouldn't want to give away to many secerts either. But I want to see the monsters, I don't want to sleep peacefully at night. But if it's another 2 years before it comes out, dang! Thats a long time to wait. But I am sure it's worth it. I am kind of used to waiting (I'm a Nintendo Fan).

Well, expect me to be watching this board alot, maybe not posting everytime I'm on, but I will be watching you. Bwha ha ha ha...

Here is what I am talking about. Why is it going to take 2 years before "The New Doom" is released. id had to be thinking about this game long before they announced it. It takes about 18 months to make a game. Once it's ready to go, they get it to the publisher and they start pumping out games. Now why will it take 2 years. I mean, I heard of this game about 4 months ago (maybe a little more or less) and it should only take about a year and a half to get it finished. So now that you can subtract 4 months, that is equal to 1 year 2 months till the release. And that is if they just started working on it when it was first announced.

Maybe they are going to release it for Christmas 2001. I just want it! Oh.. I actually enjoyed Doom64. But nothing can take away from PD right now (on the consoles).

For one thing, Doom will very doubtfully run at a good speed on the top 3d cards by the end of next year. And for another, the better technology gets, the longer it takes to create a game. You should know that by now. id @ Softdisk / independant id released something like a dozen or more games between 1990 and 1992!

Most Games take a long time to make because if they have to put in Cinimatics then it takes a LONG time to make thows graphis using 3D Studio Max, belive me ive worked with it, then it all depends on resorces and money and people its VERY complicated to make a game that might change gameing as we know it!

It may only take a Year and a half to complete New Doom, or Doom III as I call it.

He seemed to hint that it may not take so long as we may have thought ! Only 18 months maybe !

It doesn't make one iota of difference when DooM III is finished. It is going to be at least five years before I am able to save up enough money to upgrade so that I can play it.
