Should the new doom be released in the form of episodes like old school doom or should it be just one continous game like Half Life?

It should be continous, but still be devided into episodes. I hated the way DooM II handled that. It seemed like you could never tell where it ended,as aposed to the DooM style 8 levels (9 including the secret one) an episode. That is 27 levels (36 if you count Ultimate DooM's kickass 4th DooM II tie-in-episode,'Thy Flesh Consumed.
Simply put, Episodes with continuios levels in them.

I think Monkey got it right. They should have it play out, so that it seems continuous, but be split into two or three episodes.
I think the levels should be made in chunks with nice transitions between maps, just like the way Half-Life was made.

I liked the way doom1 handeled episodes. Doom2 seemed to bore me because it gave you one of those "oh, gee, another level" takes. Although I'm all for scripted sequences in the new doom I think after every episode there should be a little cut scene, sort of like "playing out" the text between episodes on doom1.

I've said it before, and I will say it again. I prefer the episodic format used in DooM over the continuous format of DooM II.
I find it good to to finish an episode. I can feel a sense of accomplishment every time I finish an episode. I feel ready to take on the next one. It is just not the same in DooM II. I have found that I can never play it through to the end. After experiencing level after level after level after level I just get too bored and tired. Then I stop playing.
No thirty levels in a row for me. Break it up into something I can play.

Well it could have like three big episodes of levels, where the maps are continuous within the episodes.
No cut scenes please. I just played some Shogo and the cut scenes during play are distracting and ugly.

I just wanna point out that id abandons the episode format only in commercial games (i.e. Spear of Destiny, Doom 2, Quake 2) ...it's just their ways.
the New Doom isn't a commercial game, i think...is it???????
