I agree. I hope it has some of the classic elements that made the original game successful and creative. However, I hope id Software adds a ton of new features, including a well-developed story for the game!

Do we still want the same annoying music? http://www.NEWDOOM.com/ubb/wink.gif

Heh, FPS have come a long way since then. I am sure the music in the new Doom will add to the creepy atmosphere immensely. The music in the original Quake scared the heck out of me!

Doom's music was FAR from annoying! Heck I loved it. It would be great if Bobby Prince could compose music for NewDoom, but not chronic bgm like classic Doom...more like the movie-style mood music in Half-Life. Good for those OSMs. ("Oh ****!" Moments)

Yeah, games definitely seem ten times better when they include immersive music. That would be quite sweet if they could get Trent Reznor to do the soundtrack for the next doom.

Since this has turned into a music duscussion due to the act that the topic sucks, I might as well add my two cents.
The sound track should include the sweet sweet sounds of Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, and some newcomers to the iD world like Static-X, Pantera, Megadeth and Anthrax.

Rock!

music will only detract from the gameplay

...unless you decide to go cinematic with it.

remember Alien Vs. Predator.

Why Iron Maiden?
I'm not really familliar with them. Here are some all stars.

-Rob Zombie
-Nine Inch Nails
-Static X
-Pantera
-Megadeth
-Metallica
Now that's hard!

Perhaps it would be even better if id or Bobby Prince would remake the classic Doom and Doom 2 music into cinematic (half-life style) music. That would be really kewl.

No, I got it right the first time.
Lemme recheck... Yup that's what it should be. Any objections? No? OK then. It's settled.

Uhh...okay.

I just listened to Bart Klepka's Doom(2) remixes. I have changed my mind about who should compose for New Doom :)

At Doom's Gate hi speed, it sounded pretty neat and all. But I don't understand why nobody focused on the Waiting slo-mix. WOW! Listen to that sudden echoish angelic hum beginning at 2:54 and I started drooling. After listening to this three consecutive times, I think hearing this mp3 in the new Doom would be GREAT! Hell, this music inspires levels all by itself. I can feel the environment just by listening to it!

Wow.

Would you be as kind as to give me a hint upon where to find those highly interesting remixes, Zack?
