Well, I agreed with most of the things said on it, and if I disagreed with anything, I forget now. Except that they should stop calling it Doom 3!!! =)
Oh, and it seems that John Romero forgot how the plot of Doom 2 went, lol! Fancy that. He said that the Doom guy met the Icon of Sin on Earth, but according to the texty scrolly thing between levels 20 and 21, it says he plunges through a newly created & opened transdimensional portal thingy that the aliens put in the center of the city, and wound up in Hell on the other side. *shrug* Romero wanted Doom 3 a return to Hell anyway, but I guess he can't have a revisit to Phobos like he wanted. Unless...
Now the Doom guy needs to figure out how to get back home! Since he's once again in Hell (assuming the plot continues from the end of Doom 2 and not Final Doom) he should work his way -backwards- to Deimos and then Phobos and then figure a way to fly back to Earth from there. He should take a different route than he did in Doom 2 so he can find the entrance to Hell from Deimos just like in Inferno. And from there a different route back to Deimos Anomaly, transfer himself through the original pair of gates to Phobos. And then perhaps bring back E1M1 with much more realism, and maybe one or two other SW episodes! This would make a good plot while keeping all new levels, allowing all good old monsers and space for new ones and bigger bosses (same with weapons), classic gameplay, all the while incorporating one or two classic familiar levels into a great new world, building on them to make them bigger and more realistic!!!
I'd LOVE to see bubbling slime pools, that blue armor vest swaying back and forth out in the courtyard, and making that mysterious patch of wall, invisible on the other side, suddenly buldge back and forward as the Doom guy comes tumbling out of that secret! More realistic falls, too, he'd jump out of that secret and smack his head hard on the ground, a reason to lose a little health. Watching the slime move around like the water in your built-in pool in the backyard. Smack & splash against the corner! Stuff like that.
And one last thing, regarding that discussion about the Doom Community's dying out: HAHAHA! Good riddance, friends. All you freaks who think you rule at Doom simply because you can make a map with thirty-some sectors, or incorporate sound effects you made with your mouth into the game. *happily waves goodbye to the evil Doom community*
