Last man on the whole planet?

Should this new game be similar to the older ones in that you are the last man alive on like, the whole damn planet? or rather you are the last man alive in your platoon, and one of your objectives is to link up with a separate unit, like a special forces, or demoloitions unit.

Last man ALIVE is correct.
Ther should be plenty of other marines.... none of which can help you. Some of them will try to hurt you but most of them will be either melted into the walls or being piled up in order to make the levels. the plot can involve you meeting your friends... as long as they're dead by the time you get there.

If the player was to run into other marines , then they should be either dead or be insane . Running into marines that have some of the weapons that the player has would be cool . That could create some interesting fire fights . These marines should be outfitted more like the player and would be a different enemy then those former human types in the old doom games .

Yeah.
If I'm gonna fight zombified space marines, they had better have some good weapons for me to pick up after I kill them. And besides, enemies should be difficult to kill from begginning to end. Of course the later, bigger ones should be more difficult but you should need some skill to beat the game even on easy.

I don't see how it matters whether you're the last guy alive or not. (Except that it wouldn't make much sense if you were...what are you trying to save if the human race is obliterated??) I don't understand how the topic has any relevance to either gameplay or storyline.

I think when we be talkin about being the last human alive , were talkin about being the last human / marine , wherever you are in da game . Lotsa people alive back home but no humans on the ship / planet / hell where your at .
