Since I upgraded to Windows 2000 i have been looking for a good source port for Duke Nukem. So far this was the best one I could find. It does have some bugs but seems to play well and has openGL support.

Good thing you mentioned Duke 3D...; I hear SkyJake's planning for Doomsday to support Duke-Nukem-3D in the future. Now THAT should be good! Of course in a way it's also NOT good because that would mean some features might not make it to Doom because time will go into Duke-3D support.... Oh well.
Looney, are you looking for more Duke 3D source-ports? 'Cuz I think I know like 3 (or maybe more).

jDuke isn't happening any time soon I'm afraid...
Nice to see you've made it back Geedougg, now be good ;)

Hey man what's up...; thanks.
BTW what do you mean I made it back? I was never registered here as Geedougg. This is the first time I've come here as Geedougg! But anyways, whatever you meant, I'm being good.
JDuke isn't what I was talking about though.... I meant Jaakko (SkyJake) is planning to implement the Duke 3D support straight into Doomsday (without changing the name or anything). I asked him if he was going to add support for ZDoom and Legacy features and other such stuff soon, and he said that it might be done after the C++ rewrite of the engine, but it apparently takes a back-seat to his grand master plan to make Doomsday support all old-engine 3D-shooters (or most of them) which he admitted would be a tough task..., but I guess if he's dedicated to it he could pull it off.

jDuke is the (potentially) Doomsday game DLL implementation of Duke 3D - there's a forum for it over in the Doomsday Forums though they were talking about jStrife last time I checked.

Well, according to Jaakko himself, he won't be goin' through with the seperate JDuke (last time he told me about his plans anyway), but JStrife might very well happen, especially seeing as to how it's based on the Doom engine in the first place (albeit, with additions that almost no Doom port can understand). If the bugs and errors and issues with the scripting (?) system in Strife can be overcome then JStrife is likely to see the light of day (figuratively speaking). Up to now Vavoom's been the only port out there that could pull off some tricky support for Strife, but some people told me that the dialogue system (if there actually is one - I don't personally know because I haven't played Strife) is all messed up in Vavoom.
One thing's for sure though...: Doomsday is about to see even more interesting times ahead.
Oh, sorry Looney, I almost forgot about the Duke ports' links:

I run the Duke Source Portal site which is located here:

Any ports currently active you'll find here, right now it seems JonoF's port is the best.

Thanks for the info. So you're into that stuff too...! Heywhich port do you think is the overall best in Graphics and Features and what-not? Jonof's?

Geedoug: I'd say Jonof's port is overall the best, mainly because of it's good rendering options and all the hi-res textures the Duke community is making. Unfortunately the retexturing "project" doesn't seem to have a site right now, so you might want to follow ADoomedMarine back to where he came from and venture over to 3dRealm's forums if you want to download the texture packs.

Thanks for the info, ToXiCFLUFF. I hope they work hard to make that port complete.
I think Doomsday (SkyJake) is planning on supporting Duke Nukem 3D in the future. That would be something to see. And I think it would have multiplayer as well if that happens.
