I have recently bought two rock CDs. One was alright, the other one was flippin' awesome!

*Crossfade- Crossfade
*Saliva- Every Six Seconds

Crossfade was an alright CD, the best song would have to be "Cold". Saliva, on the other hand. . . surprised me a lot. I had no intentions of the CD being any good. I would have to rate Saliva a 10 out of 10. Every single song rocked. The CD started out right, and ended excellent! Strongly recommend buying!!!

Lessee here, my last cd binge was:

Leng T'che - Proccess of Elimination
The Berzerker - Dissimulate
Origin - Echoes of Decimation --This will kick your ass
Necrophagist - Epitaph
Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked
Behemoth - Demigod
Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies --And this will kick it harder

I wanted to pick up Beneath the Massacre - Evidence of Inequity - but it's a pain to get a hold of as they're an - as yet - unknown band from montreal. I'd have to mail order it direct from the lable and the process for doing so kinda sucked :/. If you technical death metal like necrophagist, origin, carpharnaum, martyr, etc, this band will knock your f*cking head off. Really.

Oh, I've heard the new Nevermore album. If you've heard the Andy Sneap remix of Enemies of Reality... yeah, it's even better than that. *dark*

Some cool CDs, I should check out The Berzerker some time. The new Nile one is really good and Demigod is just great, I know I've probably said this a lot here but I sorely regret not seeing them live on the tour Behemoth did following the album release.
Yeah I'm really looking forward to This Godless Endeavour. So far from what I heard it is very good, it got a 10/10 score in Terrorizer magazine which I've not seen since I began reading that magazine so it must be bloody good. Thing is they are playing in Glasgow about 2 days before I go to Australia and it is in a small venue. *burn* All I can hope is that they'll go to Oz while I am there as I'd love to see them live too.

I ordered Vesania - God the Lux, but goodness knows when it will arrive, I got told that they've had to go and put it on special order and of course I got told this when I ordered the Children of Bodom EP, Trashed, Lost and Strungout. They dragged that on for over 3 months and in the end I got pissed off waiting and cancelled the order. I found that mad as CoB are fairly popular in metal but they couldn't get a hold of it, so I don't know what the deal was with that. *mad*

I bought Nevermore - This Godless Endeavour. Really, really great album. Istill don't quite understand why the UK release was after the US release, but still I'm so pleased with it. Warrel Dane has a great voice, I'm just hoping the go to Australia while I am there as they play Glasgow a couple of days before I jet off from here so it's cutting it rather fine. :(

She-wolf
August 16th, 2005, 12:49 AM
Including all the freebies I get of Total Guitar, Terrorizer, Metal Hammer and the ones I've bought, over 300 now, probably 400. I have about over 100 actual music CDs I have bought myself and the rest are freebies. The Total Guitar ones are not something you'd listen to except for playing the lessons in the magazine, the freebies are a great way of finding bands I haven't heard of, or to get an idea of bands I'm interesting in finding out more. Really, I've got into so many bands because I liked them from just reading the magazine or just hearing something good on the sampler and then looking up who it was. What can I say, I love music. *roflmao*

I just listened to this CD yesterday. It surely is one of the best CDs of ToT. Be careful though, because the CDs after Aegis are... different... very industrial... don't like them very much.

I'd suggest you get "A Rose For The Dead" and especially "Velvet Darkness They Fear", if you want some more ToT, those are great as well!

That dude is amazing on those keyboards. All the talent he aquired for drums, guitar, and everything else is simply amazing, too. I bet he was in heaven working with the guys from Stratovarius.

I just bought the Nirvana Box Set - With The Lights Out. Its 3 CD's of some of their early stuff, from radio appearances, demos, and b-sides. Also contains some unreleased tracks from later in their career. It also comes with DVD of them performing throughout their career. Most of the video is roughly recorded, some of it is just them singing in a basement, some is actual concerts. It's a great buy if you are a fan.

I bought this, well worth the $12: http://richshapero.shop.musictoday.com/Dept.aspx?cp=10773_10854 It's called "The Ram" and is by Rich Shapero. I heard about it from my music professor and then again from my friend that has a collector's eye for experimental music. Don't really know how to describe it, it's raw poetic nature musings atop simple country folk music, very well-crafted. Requires intense listening, defiintely not background music. The proceeds go to the wilderness conservation project, too, so I feel good that I paid for that.

The "story" behind it is fascinating. There are at least a dozen websites made for the album. There is a strange "resistence"-like thing going on, with the United States government being at war with its people. Really amazing. There might be a film or TV show about it, with Year Zero as the soundtrack.

Cannibal Corpse - Vile
I had this when it came out, I was 12 or 13.. still CC's best post-Barnes album IMO. Came with a nifty live DVD I've yet to watch.

Infected Mushroom - Vicious Delicious
It took a couple of listens for these songs to grow on me. A lot more polished and pop influenced than their previous material, but IF's songwriting and style is light-years beyond every other electronic based band or musicians out there.

Jim Carroll Band - Catholic Boy
One of the most classic punk albums of all time, very CBGBs.. every song paints a picture of sleazy, 1970s NYC perfectly.

Lunachicks - Luxury Problem
Ugh, the worst cd of their's I've heard, one track worth listening to, "Bad Ass Bitch".

The Cramps - Psychedelic Jungle/Gravest Hits split EP.
It's pretty easy to confuse any song on either of these cds with each other.. if you're in the mood for sleazy rock-a-billy (in my case, very often).

I ordered the following off teh Internetz:

Script for a Jester's Tear - Marillion
Pretty Hate Machine - Nine Inch Nails

They should arrive next week.

Indeed, they have arrived (yesterday). I'm listening to Pretty Hate Machine right now. Damn cool! :D

Yesterday I bought Nevermind, by Nirvana. One of the best 90's albums I have ever heard. It's brilliant.

Christ. A 4-post. I would edit, but the edit feature only lasts a while, so I can't.

I technically didn't buy these, but I still got them (Christmas):
Musique Vol. 1 1993-2005 - Daft Punk
Blood Sugar Sex Magik - Red Hot Chilli Peppers

My parents recieved (these I bought):
Blues Brothers Soundtrack
Surfacing - Sarah McLachlan
Andança - Grażyna Auguścik/Paulinho Garcia

Got two John Lee Hooker CDs from my grandpa not too long ago, I'll have to listen to those soon. It's just odd because I don't listen to that kind of music at all. I've been listening to jazz lately though, and blues rock is probably closer to what I listen to than jazz is. :p

I need to get into the habit of buying CDs. I have a huge collection of music, and only ten CDs. It's cooler to have a CD collection than an Mp3 (or whatever) collection.

Anyway, I got an Unreal soundtrack CD with around five songs from all the games between Unreal and UT 2004. I haven't actually listened to it all the way through yet, I just sort of skimmed through and listened to the first three seconds to see what was on it.

I decided that I needed more Testament immediately, so I downloaded The Legacy and The New Order from ITunes. I will probably buy the CDs some time in the future.

How is testament? I know some guys who like them.

I have a ton of cd's though, I just bought four gryphon miniatures. That's not what I got though but it wasn't like I payed for a Japanese import anyway...*cacrol*

I went CD-shopping with the same friend as last time:

Me:
In Utero - Nirvana
Antichrist Superstar - Marilyn Manson

Him (On my computer):
Ride the Lightning - Metallica
some Bullet For My Valentine thing.

So far, Ride the Lightning kicks ass.

My favorite songs off that album are Creeping Death, Trapped Under Ice and Fade To Black but I think the whole thing is great, even Escape.

I've never owned it, so I couldn't tell if it was good or not. All I said was that those are the only ones that were memorable off of it to me when I heard the album.

I haven't bought any CD's lately, but I am importing six CD's I haven't touched in a year and a half into iTunes so I can listen to them on the way to California, which is about a 15 hour drive from here.

They are...

The best of friends: John Lee Hooker
John Lee Hooker: His best Chess Sides
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
Experience Hendrix: The best of Jimi Hendrix
George Thorogood And The Destroyers: 30 Years Of Rock
Avenged Sevenfold (must be a self-titled album)

Needless to say, most of them aren't my preferred genre, but they can't be that bad.

No metal in my latest CD purchases..... I started to pick up a few things on eBay.

Sass Jordan ~ Racine
Martina McBride ~ Emotion
Gloria Estefan ~ Destiny

Thing is, some of the metal stuff I want to buy NOW isn't available in the few stores I frequent. That also goes for other stuff I want to buy as far as music goes. Stores suck sometimes. heh. Gotta find a few Nightwish CD's I don't have yet like the Wishmaster album.

If you're going to jump on someone for their musical taste....I'm just gonna say that I think it Is not cool to do that.

[edit] Thanks to Rusty, I'm listening to Stray Borders (http://www.archive.org/details/LostChildren019).Stray Borders are a Welsh quartet who make "slow-burning, mathematically precise alt-rock experiments that strongly recall the shrill distortion barrages of Sonic Youth".I like this 'I Don't Mind Waiting' track. Gonna grab the rest... :D
