I've been on a big Dream Theater kick lately. Mostly because I've been learning a few of the beats. It's a little difficult, because I have to simplify most of it, since I don't have anywhere near the amount of equipment Portnoy has. Shit, I don't even have a stand for my ride cymbal right now.

I only own Awake and Images and Words, so I couldn't say I agree--I haven't really heard much of their more recent stuff. I do have the Live at Budokan DVD, though--most of which is newer stuff, but I like it all. They're all really talented musicians. Portnoy is a God, though.

I surfed across a pr0n site once with a guy that looked almost exactly like the new keyboardest. Rather amusing, actually.

Wow, the metal section in this little shop was great, they had so much stuff there that I have to order online back home which was great. The CDs aren't any cheaper than they are back home though, but for being able to get my hands on ome of it without waiting and ordering is pretty cool.

Ah no, he had to stay behind I'm afraid. *ugh* As it is, my suitcase and little rucksack is enough to take around, my suitcase is just on the weight limit for flying on planes with, and although it isn't really heavy, it's difficult for me to drag about on it's wheels so taking my guitar with me was a definite no, just for it being too heavy, and also the danger of it being stolen or damaged along the way. It sucks, but I'll love it when I go back home and get to play again.

I had been learning Conquer All before then and was doing okay, surprise when I went back and found that I couldn't quite get to that tempo. It's annoying but heh, all the more reason to play like crazy when I'm reunited with my guitar!

Don´t worry about that... I don´t know how much have you been playing guitar but my experience tells me that it´s like riding a bike: takes some practice to get to it but you never forget how to do it. Just remembering that you could do something will give you what you need to do it again. At least that happened with sweep picking to me in 3-note-per-string scale stuff. I got lots of noises until I got the hang of it again.

My God!!!. Heroes is still being played in Germany!!!. I listened to them a lot like 8 years ago and they´re the only spanish rock band that got somewhere hehe. Shame they split up.

Yep. But good thing they release a "Best Of" almost every year (Hya, the benefits of capitalism ;)). And I have them all, each and every album and best of they ever released (incl. the newest CD+DVD-Box "El Ruido Y la Furia")! Plus all the CDs of their former front man Enrique Bunbury. :) Yes, I love(d) this band. I think they were one of the best rockbands of the 90s, and still are/were one of the best ever!
